Galxe Passport

Pioneering the Future of Digital Identity. Galxe Passport is your key to seamless web3 experiences. It securely stores your identity information and allows you to use it across various applications without compromising your privacy, empowering users to take control of their own data. Powered by Galxe Identity Protocol.

Passport V2

As Galxe Passport transitions to V2, both existing and new Passport holders will benefit from enhanced security and privacy features. This upgrade addresses false identities and positions Galxe as a leading identity verification solution provider.

V2 introduces three major advancements: the Private Data Vault, Facial Re-verification, and Timestamped Verification. This update integrates Galxe Passport with the Galxe Identity Protocol, enhancing security for all 990k Passport Holders.

Private Data Vault

Galxe Passport V2 introduces the Private Data Vault, a secure system for managing users' encrypted identity commitments and signed credentials. Designed for ease of use, it merges convenience with top-notch security and privacy. New users’ encrypted data will be stored in the Private Data Vault, compatible with the Galxe Identity Protocol. Leveraging Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology, it guarantees complete privacy while maintaining accessibility, reinforcing Galxe Passport’s commitment to balancing privacy with usability.

Facial Re-Verification

Galxe Passport V2 allows projects to incorporate periodic facial re-authentication into their Know-Your-Customer (KYC) processes. This feature aims to eliminate false KYC verifications, especially for users who may have obtained their Soulbound Token (SBT) with counterfeit documents. Platforms requiring KYC compliance can enforce periodic facial verifications (e.g., every six months) to ensure biometrics match initial verification. This approach enhances the authenticity of users and minimizes false KYCs, supporting stringent compliance measures.

Timestamped Verification

To improve verification consistency and minimize falsified verifications, Galxe Passport V2 introduces timestamped selfie verifications. This feature includes:

  • Date and time of the first successful selfie verification

  • Date and time of the last successful selfie verification

  • Total number of successful verifications

This multi-dimensional credential provides platforms with a robust tool to assess user authenticity, enhancing the integrity of the verification process.

FAQs

Does Sumsub or Galxe link my identity to my wallet?

No, Sumsub is a third-party vendor that verifies your identity documents but does not link identities to wallet addresses. Your anonymity is maintained even after minting a Galxe Passport.

The **Galxe Passport Holder credential** only confirms the existence of the NFT in your wallet; it does not reveal your personal identity when participating in a Galxe Quest. The NFT is minted on the BNB Chain, and you can verify the contract address here.

How is my identity stored, and who can access it?

Your identity information is encrypted with your password, and only you can decrypt it. Galxe does not store this data in plain text, so no one, including Galxe, can access your identity information without your explicit permission.

What happens if my KYC verification fails?

Should your KYC verification be unsuccessful, you will be granted one additional opportunity to retry the process. Please note that this additional attempt is your final opportunity. If you do not pass the final attempt, you will be required to complete the payment process again before you may attempt verification anew. Detailed instructions on how to proceed will be sent to your email.

How many chances do I get to complete KYC verification?

You will have two chances to complete the KYC process. If both attempts are unsuccessful, you will need to restart the verification process.

Can I mint a new Galxe Passport with the same identity?

No. Each identity is limited to one Galxe Passport. If you have already verified your identity, you cannot mint another passport using alternative documentation, as the underlying identity data remain the same. Additionally, if you revoke your current Passport, you must wait 30 days before minting a new one.

What happens if I forget my Galxe Passport password?

If you forget your Galxe Passport password, you will lose access to your encrypted data. Although your Passport can still be used for identity verification, functionalities such as re-verification, data sharing, and upgrading your Passport will be unavailable without the correct password. We strongly recommend keeping your password secure to ensure uninterrupted service.

How is my Galxe Passport used, and is my data secure?

Your Galxe Passport can be used across partner platforms, such as IDO and INO platforms, through integration with the Galxe ID SDK. This allows these platforms to verify your identity for compliance purposes without requiring repeated verifications. The Soulbound Token (SBT) feature also helps prevent Sybil attacks by ensuring only verified individuals can participate in certain activities.

Galxe follows strict privacy policies to protect your information. Your data remains secure and is not accessible to third parties, including government agencies. Since Galxe does not store data in plain text and cannot decrypt it without your consent, it cannot disclose your information without your permission.

Is a Galxe Passport mandatory to use Galxe?

No, minting a Galxe Passport is not a requirement to access Galxe’s features. Users can still engage with Galxe without it. However, some partners may choose to require Galxe Passport Holder credentials for participation in certain activities, such as quests.

Can I transfer my Galxe Passport?

No, the Galxe Passport is a soulbound token and is non-transferable.

Why was my ID or selfie verification declined?

Sumsub may decline your identity verification for several reasons, including but not limited to:

  • Incorrect or invalid document submission

  • The document has already been used with another wallet

  • Expired or invalid ID

  • Missing required information

  • Low-quality or unclear image (ensure proper lighting and clarity)

  • Signs of document alteration or tampering

  • Submission of an electronic replica instead of a physical ID

  • A previously used photo detected in the system

  • Applicant is under 18 years of age

If your verification is declined, you may retry using a different type of ID with the same personal information or opt to pay for a re-verification attempt. However, approval is not guaranteed, particularly after multiple rejections.

What if my facial re-verification is declined?

If your facial re-verification is declined, you can still participate in Galxe features or quests that don't require the latest Galxe Passport V2 credentials with a "Last verification time no later than [Period set by projects]" condition.

For example:

  • If a quest requires Galxe Passport V2 credentials with a "Last verification time no later than June 1, 2024," and your last facial re-verification was on May 29, 2023, you will not be eligible to participate.

  • However, if a quest only requires "Last verification time any time," your May 29, 2023, verification will still allow you to join.

How can I obtain a refund if my ID is declined?

Verification fees are non-refundable, and no refunds will be issued if your identity document is declined or if you are under 18.

Can I mint a new Galxe Passport if my current one is revoked?

You must wait 30 days after revocation before minting a new Galxe Passport.

How do I get a Galxe Passport on mobile?

You can obtain a Galxe Passport on mobile using a mobile browser, following the same steps as on the desktop version. Please note that the Galxe app does not support Passport minting. For detailed instructions, refer to the official guide here.

Disclaimer: The verification fee is non-refundable. By using Galxe Passport, you agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Please review these terms carefully before minting.
