How to Bridge G Tokens from Gravity Alpha to Gravity L1 Mainnet

Step-by-step guide to bridging G Tokens from Gravity Alpha Mainnet to Gravity L1 Mainnet

All Gravity-related contracts (i.e. Loyalty Points, Token Rewards, etc) for Galxe Quests have migrated from Gravity Alpha Mainnet to Gravity L1 Mainnet.

If you claim points or other rewards using a direct Web3 wallet (instead of Smart Balance), your wallet must hold G Tokens on Gravity L1 Mainnet. If your G Tokens are still on Gravity Alpha Mainnet, your claim transaction will fail, because the system checks for G Tokens on Gravity L1 Mainnet, not Gravity Alpha Mainnet.

This also applies more broadly: Gravity Alpha Mainnet is being phased out. Gravity Alpha Mainnet will remain available until November 1, 2026. After that date, it will be deprecated and any assets left on it will no longer be transferable. If you hold G Tokens or other assets on Gravity Alpha Mainnet, we recommend bridging them before the deadline.

Gravity Alpha Mainnet vs. Gravity L1 Mainnet

Gravity Alpha Mainnet was the earlier version of the Gravity network, and operated as an L2 (Layer 2). It is being retired and will be deprecated on November 1, 2026.

Gravity L1 Mainnet is the current version of the Gravity network, and operates as an L1 (Layer 1). It introduces enhanced infrastructure, including high-performance EVM execution and native oracle capabilities, and is now the network that Galxe Quest contracts (such as Loyalty Points and Token Rewards) run on.

In short: Gravity Alpha Mainnet is the old L2 network being phased out, and Gravity L1 Mainnet is the current L1 network your G Tokens and claims need to be on.

Recommended Option: Use Smart Balance (Easier Method)

For a smoother claiming experience, we recommend depositing into Smart Balance instead of using a direct Web3 wallet. Smart Balance lets you pay for gas fees across multiple networks from a single balance, for a more seamless experience.

If you would rather bridge your existing G Tokens directly, follow the steps below:

Option 1: Bridge G Tokens Using the Official Bridge

To bridge your G Tokens from Gravity Alpha Mainnet to Gravity L1 Mainnet, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gravity Bridge.

  2. Connect your wallet and select Legacy L2.

  3. Enter the amount of G Tokens you want to bridge from Gravity Alpha Mainnet to Ethereum.

  4. Review the details and once confirmed, press the Bridge button.

  5. Once your G Tokens arrive on Ethereum*, select Mainnet.

  6. Bridge the G Tokens from Ethereum to Gravity L1 Mainnet.

Important: Bridging from Gravity Alpha Mainnet to Ethereum has a 7-day waiting period before the tokens arrive on Ethereum. Plan ahead if you need your G Tokens for a specific claim deadline.

Option 2: Skip the 7-Day Wait Using a Centralized Exchange (CEX)

If you prefer not to wait 7 days, you can use a centralized exchange that supports G Token deposits from Gravity Alpha Mainnet, such as OKX or Bitget.

  1. Send your G Tokens from Gravity Alpha Mainnet to your CEX account.

  2. Withdraw the G Tokens from the CEX to your direct Web3 wallet address using the Ethereum network.

  3. Go to the Gravity Bridge.

  4. Bridge the tokens from your Web3 wallet on Ethereum to Gravity L1 Mainnet.

Since this route involves transacting on Ethereum, you will also need some ETH in your wallet to cover gas fees when bridging from Ethereum to Gravity L1 Mainnet.

FAQ

Why do I need to bridge my G Tokens to Gravity L1 Mainnet?

Gravity-related contracts for Galxe Quests (such as Loyalty Points and Token Rewards) now run on Gravity L1 Mainnet. If you are claiming points or other rewards with a direct Web3 wallet, the system checks for G Tokens on Gravity L1 Mainnet. G Tokens held on Gravity Alpha Mainnet will not be recognized, and your claim will fail until you bridge them over.

I have G Tokens in Gravity, why does it say insufficient G Tokens?

Your G Tokens are likely still on Gravity Alpha Mainnet instead of Gravity L1 Mainnet. The claim process only recognizes G Tokens held on Gravity L1 Mainnet, so a balance on Gravity Alpha Mainnet will show as insufficient even though you do hold G Tokens.

To fix this:

  • Check your wallet's connected network and confirm which chain your G Tokens are on.

  • If your G Tokens are on Gravity Alpha Mainnet, bridge them to Gravity L1 Mainnet using the steps above.

  • Once the bridge completes, switch your wallet's network to Gravity L1 Mainnet and try claiming again.

How long does bridging take?

Bridging from Gravity Alpha Mainnet to Ethereum through the official bridge has a 7-day waiting period. If you need your tokens sooner, you can transfer your G Tokens to a centralized exchange that supports Gravity Alpha Mainnet deposit (such as OKX or Bitget) to skip the wait, then bridge from Ethereum to Gravity L1 Mainnet.

What do I need to bridge from Ethereum to Gravity L1 Mainnet?

You will need some ETH in your wallet to cover the gas fee for that transaction.

Is there a deadline to move my assets off Gravity Alpha Mainnet?

Yes. Gravity Alpha Mainnet will be deprecated on November 1, 2026. Assets remaining on Gravity Alpha Mainnet after that date will no longer be transferable, so we recommend bridging before the deadline.
