1. What is Galxe Passport?

Galxe Passport is your universal Web3 identity. It securely stores your identity information and allows you to use it across various applications without compromising your privacy, empowering users to take control of their own data.

2. Why mint Galxe Passport?

Beyond enabling a streamlined Web3 experience, Galxe Passport also serves as a a secure and private way for users to store their digital identity data. More precisely, your data is only accessible to you, any other party (including Galxe) can only access this data upon your permission, thereby protecting the confidentiality of your personal information.

3. How to mint Galxe Passport?

New users who haven't minted Galxe Passport V1 will be onboarded directly to Galxe Passport V2.

  1. Navigate to Galxe: Visit app.galxe.com.

  2. Choose Galxe Passport: Select “Galxe Passport”.

  3. Connect Your Wallet: ​Log in and connect your wallet to Galxe.

  4. Click "Switch Chain": Select BNB Network.

  5. Click "Mint Now": To create your Passport.

  6. Click "Continue": After reading and agreeing to Terms and Conditions.

  7. Make payment: ​Verify your ID using your smart balance or wallet.

  8. Upload official documents: Drivers License or State Identification or International Passport.

  9. Selfie Verification: Complete the selfie verification.

  10. Encrypt your data: Set a strong password for your data.

  11. Congratulations! You've got your Galxe passport NFT.

ℹ️ Note:

  • Payment via Smart Balance is unavailable with insufficient balance or disabled default payment.

  • Additionally, Galxe Passport NFT is minted on BNB Chain with this contract address.

⭐️ Tip: Ensure your wallet has sufficient balance, including the gas fee, to proceed with Galxe Passport verification.

4. How to upgrade to Galxe Passport V2?

Users who have minted their Galxe Passport V1 can upgrade to V2 and migrate it to Galxe Protocol.

  1. Navigate to Galxe Passport: Visit app.galxe.com/passport.

  2. Click on “Upgrade to Passport V2 and migrate it to Galxe Protocol”: Click 🫧 .

  3. Enter Your Password: Enter your Galxe Passport password.

  4. Click “Continue”: You can change your password or proceed to the next step.

  5. You've successfully upgraded to Galxe Passport V2.

ℹ️ Note: Please ensure that you have the correct password during the migration for recovery.

5. How to Complete Facial Re-verification?

Certain projects on Galxe Quest may require users or participants to complete a facial verification for user validation for Sybil-prevention purposes. In these circumstances, you can fulfil the requirement by re-verifying your identity for a fee of 0.002 BNB per facial verification.

  1. Navigate to Galxe Passport: Visit app.galxe.com/passport.

  2. Click on “Facial Re-verification”: Click 📷 .

  3. Enter Your Password: Enter your Galxe Passport password.

  4. Click on “Continue”: Make a payment of 0.002 BNB to proceed to the next step.

  5. Selfie Verification: Complete the selfie verification.

  6. You've successfully completed the selfie verification.

ℹ️ Note:

  • This is mandatory only if you participate in a quest without meeting the face verification timestamp requirement. I.e. your initial facial verification is outdated.

  • After a successful re-verification, the latest face verification timestamp will display at the bottom left corner.


Scenario

🧠 E.g.: Your last face re-verification is stamped May 29, 2023, 00:00:00.


  • If a campaign utilize Galxe Passport V2 Holder credentials with a "Last Verification time no later than June 1 2024, 00:00:00," and your last face re-verification is stamped May 29, 2023, 00:00:00, you cannot participate.

  • if a campaign utilize Galxe Passport V2 Holder credentials with a "Last Verification time any time," and your last face re-verification is stamped May 29, 2023, 00:00:00, you can participate.

6. How to Revoke Galxe Passport?

  1. Navigate to Galxe Passport: Visit app.galxe.com/passport.

  2. Click on “Revoke Passport”: Click 🗑️.

  3. Click “Continue”: After reviewing the passport revocation process.

  4. Click on “Decrypt Locally”: Decrypt your identity data first.

  5. Click “Authorize and Delete”: Authorize Galxe to access your data for revocation process.

  6. Confirm Transaction: Review your transaction details carefully.

  7. Sign Transaction: Approve the transaction from your wallet.

  8. Wait for Confirmation: Allow time for the transaction to be confirmed.

  9. Revoked completed.

ℹ️ Note: After revoking your passport, please wait for 30 days before minting a new Galxe Passport.

7. What’s Persona’s role in the process?

Persona is a third-party vendor that maintains the algorithm and checks whether your ID is valid. They will have access to your identity information because they need to check duplicate IDs in the system. However, Persona will not know which identity belongs to which address.

8. Will I remain anonymous after minting a Galxe Passport?

Neither Galxe nor Persona retain any mapping relationship between wallet address and identity information. Therefore, your anonymity remains fully confidential following the minting of a Galxe Passport.

9. How is my identity stored and who can access it?

Your identity information is encrypted with your password, and only you can decrypt this data. Galxe does not store this data in plain text, no one, including Galxe, has the access to your identity information without your permission.

10. Can I mint a new Galxe Passport with the same identity?

You're limited to minting only one Galxe Passport per Galxe ID. If you've previously revoked your passport, there is a 30-day waiting period before minting a new one with the same identity.

11. What happens if I forget my Galxe Passport password?

Your KYC information is encrypted by your password, protected by cryptographic algorithms. Unfortunately no one, including us, will be able to decrypt it without your password. While you can still use your Galxe Passport as a proof-of-human NFT, accessing encrypted personal data for re-verification, migration to Passport V2, or sharing with third parties for compliance purposes will not be feasible.

12. How can I use my Galxe Passport?

Partners, such as IDO or INO platforms, may integrate the Galxe ID SDK and request for your identity information for compliance purposes. Granting access to your Galxe Passport's identity information to these partners eliminates the need for repeated verification processes on their platforms. Additionally, other partners may utilize the Galxe Passport SBT as a proof-of-human mechanism to prevent Sybil attacks.

13. Is Galxe Passport mandatory to use Galxe?

No. None of the features on Galxe requires you to mint a Galxe Passport. Neither does Galxe require any of our partners use Galxe Passport Holder credentials in their campaigns. Galxe Passport Holder credential functions in the same way as any other credential in the network. It’s at space creators’ sole discretion to include a Galxe Passport Holder credential as a requirement in their campaigns.

14. Does Galxe Passport Holder credential reveal my identity in campaigns?

No, the Galxe Passport Holder credential solely examines your possession of the Galxe Passport NFT in your wallet. Participating in these campaigns will not reveal your identity information. The Galxe Passport NFT is minted on the BNB Chain with this contract address.

15. What if government agencies request user information from Galxe?

Galxe operates on a stringent privacy policy, ensuring that your information remains secure and inaccessible to anyone, including government entities. Since Galxe does not store your data in plain text and lacks the means to decrypt encrypted information without your permission, such disclosures are simply not possible.

16. How can I obtain a refund if my ID is declined?

Please note that the verification fee is non-refundable. If your identity document is declined, including for being under 18, no refund will be issued.

17. Can I pay for a re-verification if my ID is declined?

While you can pay for the passport verification fee again, it's essential to understand that your identity will likely still be declined by Persona. This means you would essentially be paying for the same outcome. Additionally, please keep in mind that the passport verification fee in Passport V2 is non-refundable.

18. What if my facial re-verification is declined?

You can proceed with your web3 journey using Galxe features or engage in campaigns that don't require Galxe Passport V2 Holder credentials with the specified requirement of "Last verification time no later than [Period set by projects]".

  • if a campaign utilize Galxe Passport V2 Holder credentials with a "Last Verification time any time," and your last face re-verification is stamped May 29, 2023, 00:00:00, you can participate.

19. Why was my ID declined?

Persona is unable to process your Identity Documents due to one of the following reasons:

  • Incorrect or mismatched document submission.

  • Invalid or non-compliant with identification requirements.

  • Expired document submission.

  • Blurred or excessively glare-affected document.

  • Electronic replicas or screenshots.

Note: The verification fee is non-refundable. If your identity document is declined, including for being under 18, no refund will be issued.
