A proof-of-work task on Galxe is a type of task requirement where users must complete a specific action and submit verifiable evidence before they can be marked as eligible. Unlike automated tasks (such as on-chain interactions or social follows), proof-of-work tasks involve manual review or validation by the project team to ensure submissions meet the required criteria.
In this guide, we walk through how to set up a proof-of-work task using Google Forms and Google Sheets, where users submit their entries through a form, and only approved submissions are recorded and used for verification. Using this method gives you greater control over quality, accuracy, and fairness, especially for tasks that cannot be automatically verified.
To start, you’ll need to have the following:
Google Form
Google Sheet linked to Google form
Two tabs in Google Sheet:
Tab 1 - Form Submissions: This is where all of the user submissions are automatically recorded by Google Sheet
Tab 2 - Verified Submissions: This is where you’ll be putting the filtered users who submitted correct entries

Please make sure to include any of the following as a required field in the form:
Email address
EVM Wallet Address
or non-EVM Wallet address (for non-EVM chains)
📌 It is important to have at least one of these as they will serve as user identification (ID Type) in Galxe
Google Sheet Guide
Must have the two tabs mentioned previously
Add [email protected] as a viewer
First column in Tab 2 must be the user identifier (mentioned from Google Form Guide)
Galxe Quest Guide
From task settings, select “Import Your Own Data”
Select the ID Type
This must be similar to the user’s identification required field from both the Google Form and Google Sheet
Select “Google Sheet” from Credential Source
Paste the Google Sheet link and click "Recognize"
Select the Tab 2 where the filtered users will be saved, and the column that will be used to track the user’s ID Type.
Note: This is a very important step! Do not select Tab 1 (Form Responses)—otherwise, all user submissions will be automatically verified, defeating the purpose of manual review.
6. Fill in the task description
7. From Call-to-action Link: Paste the Google Form link. This will automatically redirect the users to the form when they click on the task
8. Optionals:
Participation End Date: Set a deadline for users to complete the task. After this date, they can no longer verify their submission.
Update Frequency: Indicate how often will you update the qualified addresses so the users know when to come back and verify their task.
