When setting up a raffle-based quest, you can now choose “Luck-Based Reward”. Instead of each winner getting the same amount, the total reward pool is randomly split among them to add excitement and viral value.
How to Use It
Pick “Token - Luck-Based Token Reward” as the reward type.
Enter the total reward amount you want to give away (let’s call it T).
Enter the number of winners for the raffle (let’s call it N).
Each winner receives at least $1 in value, but the rest of the reward is distributed randomly.
The system will check:
The total reward (T) must be more than the number of winners (N).
The system converts the reward amount to USD to make sure this rule is followed.
Example: If you have 1000 G tokens worth $14.16, the number of winners can be up to 14.
Notes:
This reward type is only supported for raffle-based quests, not FCFS (first-come, first-served).
The currently supported networks are ETH, Optimism, Polygon, Gravity Alpha Mainnet, Base Mainnet, Avalanche, Arbitrum, and BNB Chain.
Note: The supported tokens for luck-based token rewards are different from those of normal token rewards.
For more information on the different types of quest rewards, please check this guide.
Validation Rules
If T < N, quest setup will be rejected.
Error shown:
“Insufficient funds to meet the minimum reward per winner. Please increase the total token amount or reduce the number of winners.”
What Happens After the Raffle
Each winner receives at least $1, but the rest is randomized.
The winner with the highest reward is marked as “Luckiest”.
Rewards are shown with 2 decimal precision.
If rewards are unclaimed after 14 days, you can click “Refund” to retrieve the unclaimed tokens.
Best Practices
Use Luck-Based Token Reward to make your quest more engaging and shareable.
Make sure the total reward amount in USD is greater than the number of winners, or the setup will fail.
Clearly communicate to users that rewards are randomly distributed and mention it in the quest title or description.
FAQs
What does “luck-based token reward” mean?
What does “luck-based token reward” mean?
Rewards are distributed through a raffle system, but the amount each winner receives varies. Every winner gets at least $1 worth of tokens, while the remaining amount is randomly allocated. The participant who receives the highest reward is labeled as the “Luckiest.”
Do all participants pay a claim fee?
Do all participants pay a claim fee?
Participation in the raffle may incur a fee, since each entry is recorded on-chain for fairness and transparency. However, if the quest is set to “Gasless”, users can join the raffle without paying any participation fee.
For raffle winners, there is still a transfer fee when moving the prize token from Galxe to your wallet. This fee depends on the blockchain where the token is deployed.
Example: If the reward token is on Ethereum, users will need to have ETH in their wallets to cover the gas fees.
Can a quest be modified after it is released?
Can a quest be modified after it is released?
No, quests cannot be modified once they are released. This ensures fairness and consistency for all participants.
